Bunnysuit Corset Pattern AMBER is another multi sized completely free corset pattern created for your amusement and creativity!

Amber is made out of 16 pattern pieces in total plus the optional suspendable modesty panel.

Pattern Difficulty : Advanced ●●●●●●

Since she is an overbust style with a long completely closed bottom edge, it is a challenge to fit and construct her. Another addition to her complexity are the crotch pattern pieces, with one of them needing to be made out of elastic fabric, such as power mesh of cotton jersey. This means it’s drafted with negative ease and relay on the springiness of elastic fabrics to achieve the proper fit.

Even though AMBER is more difficult for this reason, I’ve tried my best to make her as comfortable to wear, as I could. With this, she is a lovely choice for creating the base garment for many cosplay and burlesque costumes!

This pattern has been made with a waist reduction of 7,5cm or 3″ and is made to fit with the center back fully closed.

You can make and sell as many corsets by using this pattern.

Important Construction Notes!

Main 14 pattern pieces must be made out of a tightly woven strength layer fabric to create a good corset base. Same way we do when we sew any corset.

For the 2 crotch pieces, back piece can be made out of two layers of strength fabric, a combination of inner strength and outer fashion or both can be made out of chosen fashion fabric! Really depends on what you’d prefer and how your fabrics behave.
Find out more about strength and fashion layer fabrics in Corset Parts 101!

Smaller crotch piece is to be made out of an elastic material such as power mesh or cotton jersey knit. Edges should be finished with strips of elastic tape. They MUST be 1.5cm or 1/2″smaller than the patten piece edge length!
To finish it all off, hook and eye fastener should be used to allow for easy but secure closing of the bottom.

How was the example of Bunnysuit Corset Pattern AMBER made?

Example corset is made using a Welt Seam Double strength layers also known as Sandwich Method  with two layers of unbleached 100% cotton upholstery calico (as strength layers). Outside or fashion layer is made out of white 100% cotton sheet sateen fused with medium weight woven fusible interfacing.
Yes, that was a massive word salad but at least you know exactly what was going on in the fabric department!

I’ve fully boned the corset with heavy duty industrial zip ties and sacrificed a bra for the hook and eye fastening since I couldn’t find it in Croatia. Also, I’ve left the front fully closed as I made AMBER as an example of a budget corset. Yup, you read that right. Budget. Corset.
Everything I’ve used was locally sourced!

You too can make a great corset even though you don’t have the special corsetry supplies available to you. Pesonally, I have started my corset making journey with substitute, budget materials and have built my way to the fancy stuff.
Where the is a will, there is a way!

Many different types of corset construction can be applied to Bunnysuit Corset Pattern AMBER, it is purely a question of preference!
