Corset Patterns

Compared to a decade ago, you have a sickening amount of corset patterns to choose from!

Even if we look only at the corset patterns that are available for purchase, there is an amazing amount of variety. PDF patterns are more and more popular as a format choice, making it possible for you to start your corset project just a couple of minutes after purchasing it… from a shop on the other side of the world!

There are modern corset patterns, vintage and antique models and designs. Some come in just one size while others are sold as a multi-sized pattern nest! There are more brands and maker that sell their skill of drafting a completely custom corset pattern just for you and your needs.

Corset patterns are so plentiful that it is almost entirely true that if you can think of it, someone has it!

AtelierSylphecorsets is a small business based in France. While they mostly make corsets and other accessories, they offer an amazing amount of historical corset patterns, all based on real existing antique garments! All patterns are single sized and the size varies from pattern to pattern. Corset pattern collection spans through many different styles and periods. They also offer two display doll patterns, one Victorian and one Edwardian styled.

Ageless Patterns is a historical garment pattern brand that is in business for over 20 years. They offer a wide selection of corset patterns based historical patterns. Some are single sized while others are multi-sized. They patterns are primarily available in paper format.

Black Snail Patterns is an indie pattern brand located in Austria. They specialize in multi-sized historical patterns, both male and female, and have 3 corset patterns on offer. One each for Regency, Victorian and Edwardian era. Size range is EUR 34-56. Most patterns are available as paper print and PDF.

Bra Making Supplies is a brand based in Canada, that specialize in bra making. They offer many bra and pantie patterns as well as one corset pattern. Patterns are multi-sized with size ranges depending on the pattern and garment.

Butterick is a large garment pattern brand focused on general garment patterns thought they do offer some corset patterns in their “Making History” pattern line. All of their patterns are multi-sized and come in paper form.
Be warned that most big pattern brands create all of their pattern with a generous amount of wear easy, making their corset sizes run larger than expected.

Corsets by Caroline is an indie pattern brand based in UK. They are specialized in corset patterns and have a wide range of different corset styles. Size range is, usually, UK 8-20 (US 4-16). Many patterns are drafted in such a way, they are easy to customize and adjust. Large majority of patterns are PDF downloads.

Corset Training is an educational brand focused on offering corset patterns and corset making classes. They offer a wide selection of multi-sized corset patterns. Patterns are available as PDF downloads with a size range of UK8-18.

Dress Like Princess is an indie pattern brand that offers corset and bra patterns from Russia. Size range is S-L (you need to contact the maker for XS-XXS and XL-XXL size sets). All patterns are available as PDF instant downloads.

Fig Leaf Patterns is a small indie pattern brand located in USA. They specialize in multi-sized historical patterns based around 18th-19th century. All patterns are only available in paper form. They offer one corset pattern, an 18th to 19th century transition pair of stays based on a real antique garment.
Corset pattern is sold in two versions, one in size range US8-18, and one in US18-28.

Harlots and Angels is a small indie pattern brand from France. They specialize in Steampunk style designs for both, male and female. They offer many different corset patterns in different cut styles. Most patterns come in paper and PDF form. Patterns are multi-sized (3 different sizes per pattern) with the full size range of 20″-42″ (based on finished corset waist measurement).

Karolina Laskowska is a small brand dedicated to making luxury lingerie and corsets. They also offer a good range corset and lingerie patterns based on real antique and vintage real garments. Pattern are any available in PDF format and are single sized with sizes varying between patterns.

KarybdisAtelier is located in Italy and offers a few corset patterns for purchase. They are all single sized PDF underbust patterns.

Laughing Moon Mercantile is a historical garment pattern brand that offers a few corset patterns and they even offer a corset making instructional video as well. Lately, they have been branding them selves as Bijoux Pattern Co.

Margo’s Patterns is a small indie pattern brand specialized in historic costume patterns for both males and females. They offer one underpinnings pattern set with a corset in three style variations (Elizabethan pair of stays).

McCall’s is another big garment pattern brand that mostly focuses on modern garment patterns though they do offer a pretty wide selection of corset patterns, mostly in their “Cosplay”, “Yaya Han” and “Angela Clayton” lines. All of their patterns are multi-sized and come in paper form.

Mrs. Depew is a small vintage pattern brand. They offer a wide range of different vintage patterns, including a good selection of vintage girdle and corselet patterns. Patterns are available as PDF instant download files and sizes vary from pattern to pattern.

NadelUndFadenPress is an Etsy shop that offers bundles of real/full sized corset patterns in PDF form from the book “Corset Cutting and Making” by Marion McNealy. Patterns come in one size only, spaning through 1900-1920.
Patterns are meant to accompany the information in the mentioned book.

Nehelenia Patterns is an indie historical pattern located in Germany. They offer some corset patterns and other underpinnings as well as patterns for other garments. Their size range is, usually, EUR 34-46 and many of their patterns are sold in multi-sized nests.

Past Patterns is a historical pattern brand that cover the garments from late 18th century to mid 20th century. They offer a couple of corset patterns in their line. Their patterns are multi-sized and available in paper form.

Ralph Pink is a London based brand that offers many multi-sized corset (as well as other garment) patterns  in PDF format. Size range is UK4-20.

Reconstructing History is a historical pattern brand that has been in business from 1997. They offer a very large selection of historical pattern from many different periods as well as different types of garments (and accessories) for both men and women. They have a couple of corset patterns. All patterns are multi-sized and sizes vary from pattern to pattern. All patterns are available in paper or PDF format.

Redthreaded is a small indie brand making and selling corset patterns. They offer corset patterns in 3 different era styles, Regency, Georgian and Victorian. Patterns are single sized with a size range of XS-XXL and 18Plus-26Plus (plus sizes). All patterns on Etsy are only PDF downloads while you can buy the same patterns printed on paper from the parent site.

Repeated Originals is another small indie pattern brand. They are located in Australia and specialize in PDF vintage patterns, both male and female, some children pieces too. They offer 4 single size corset patterns. Sizes differ from pattern to pattern.

Scroop Patterns is an indie brand of sewing patterns based in New Zealand. They offer a long line WWI styled corset pattern in a PDF format. Size range is 30-52 and the pattern is based on a real antique garment.

Sew Curvy while they are predominantly a corsetry supply shop based in UK, they also offer two corset patterns under their brand name. They are often included in their corset making kits. Both patterns are multi-sized and only available in paper form. Size range is UK 8-32.

Sew Wardrobe  is a small Etsy shop offering one PDF overbust corset pattern. It is the pattern used in her corset making class “Sewing Corsets: Essential Techniques” (available on Blueprint). A corset supply kit is also available (to be purchased separately).

SDL Corsetry is a small brand located in USA, that offers custom drafted corset patterns. Available in paper or PDF form.

Sin and Satin is a small business and an indie corset pattern brand. They offer a few single sized antique corset patterns as well as more modern styled multi-sized corset pattern. All patterns are in PDF format with the size range varies from pattern to pattern and is based on finished corset measurements.

Simplicity is basically one of the garment pattern giants. They primarily offer general clothing patterns but do have a selection of costume and fashion corset patterns. Their patterns are multi-sized, and they come in paper format.

The Mantua-Maker is a historical garment pattern brand that is predominantly focused on general garment patterns but they do offer a fairly wide selection of historically based corset patterns. Their patterns are multi-sized and available in paper form.

TheMeasuringTape is an indie brand located in Malaysia. They offer custom drafted corset patterns in two styles, overbust and underbust. Patterns are available in paper or PDF format.

Truly Victorian   is a historical pattern brand focused on the Victorian and Edwardian era. They can boast with a wide range of garment patterns for both men and women as well as a few Victorian period corset patterns, one Early and one Late Edwardian. They make historical pattern to fit a modern body.

The Tudor Tailor  is a brand based in the United Kingdom. They focus on the 16th century period and are very  famous for their wonderful publications such as the The Tudor Tailor: Reconstructing 16th Century Dress”, among others. They offer many garments patterns woman’s, men’s and children’s patterns, they also have a multi-sized pattern for Tudor/Elizabethan Bodies. Size range is UK8-28 separated in two options, small and large size set.

Tyler’s Fibers is a small indie brand based in USA. They offer standard sized as well as custom corset pattern options. Standard size range is US 6-14. Patterns are only available as PDF downloads.

Twilight Siren is a corsetry brand that offers 1 corset pattern for purchase, under the brand Laced:Unlaced. It is a 1940’s corset girdle style available both as paper or PDF instant download item. Girdle pattern is based on an original vintage garment and is available in one size only.
